Winter patterns that are seasonal

Selecting a pattern or even a colour scheme in winter can be tricky, especially now that the chilly and cold air is here. Our advice is to create a stylish seasonal look that is easy to update and incorporate some trendy colours, fabrics and patterns.

Choosing a colour is the most important element when it comes to decorating a home and the colours for this season has got to be deep purples with neutrals, powder pastels and jewel colours like emerald, tourmalie and ruby.

Many aren't aware that jewel accents is perfect for adding a splash of bright colour to those dreary winter days. Experiment with rich accents like burnt red and metallics and combine it with winter whites and creams.

Patterns

Mixing old and new textures is a great way to get the most out of your living space. Opulent velvets and floral prints creates that modern English home feel. Cosy wool fabrics together with tailored pinstripes and checks gives the room a contemporary look and feel.

What happens to be on trend at the moment is by throwing together a mixture of different fabrics because it makes the interior so much more inviting. Use tactile fabrics instead of soft furnishings which will change the mood of the room setting. Make the space warm and inviting by adding a throw over the chair or by changing the lighting in the room.
